As mentioned in my last post, I am retiring from posting on Alongthegardenspath and transferring this site to another author.
Like many retirees I’ll be doing a little work on the side 🙂 so I’ve created Beyondthegardenspath
As the name suggests, I’ll cover gardens beyond the Gardens.
If you’d like to continue to follow my blogs, you can go to beyondthegardenspath.com and choose the FOLLOW button at the bottom of the post.
Alongthegardenspath will continue to sing the praises of the Halifax Public Gardens, so don’t go away.
With pleasure. Thank you . Heather

I have a huge cherry tree in my new back yard in the South End. Home is 150 years old. How would I discover how old his Tree is? Base circumference is over 46 inches .
The only way I can think of is to count the ‘rings’ in the trunk but you don’t want to cut it down 🙂 I searched online and found this article http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/education_safety/education/plt/activity_sheets/growthfactorworksheet.pdf
