It’s been a little over a year since I started posting photos of the Gardens.
Last year at this time I was amazed by our warm weather and the still floriferous beds. When I compare this year’s photos to last year’s, it brings home how much our climate has shifted. The Gardens are still going strong, with the annual beds, planters, carpet beds and perennial borders still offering up their colorful bounty.
The leaves are just beginning to change and the opportunity to see breathtaking compositions are still ahead of us.
It doesn’t look like summer has ended!
Then you round a corner and are faced with fall in all it’s glory. If you stroll downwind of this Katsura tree (and don’t try too hard), you can detect an illusive scent of cotton candy.
Fall and the promise of future summers. This PJM Rhododendron has set next year’s flower buds already. The PJM is the only Rhododendron whose flower buds are in clusters, making it easy to identify.
The Dahlia beds are at their absolute best. I could bore you with all the Dahlia photos I’ve taken, but I won’t.

Who’s checking out who?
Flora and Diana are fascinated by those strange creatures that parade by them every day.

We have a very important announcement and invitation to share…
